This past weekend was quite something. I made the decision in the closing days of 2009 that I wanted to commit my time and efforts to creating a full-length album, one that can truly stand as a milestone on my musical journey. Well, last weekend the process began at 'You Are Here' studios (run by Dave Reilly) in Allston, MA.
We made record time by tracking a full a song every day, and for a 9 piece band that's really quite incredible. The songs that are coming out are really something else, something I know that I'm proud of, the band is proud of and, if our efforts and intentions have been in the right place, something you can be proud of too. The album's theme is really one of black and white merging together, of a seriousness met with optimism, of hopes, dreams, fears, love - there will be highs, there will be lows, but ultimately the end result will be a solid work of art.
The working title is 'Transmission', though like any movie a working title can turn out to be completely different, like 'Cheese' or 'Slusho' becoming 'Cloverfield'. The path is long, but those I walk it with are close friends and fans - thank you for being there. This is going to be good.
